The Number One Tip for Painting Valentine’s Day Watercolor Hearts

The number one tip is – you simply must let go of any judgement and practice self love. As you can see from my examples, watercolor hearts come in different shapes, sizes, colors. There is no right or wrong way of painting one.

In fact, the more wonky and unconventional your watercolor heart looks, the better! It means you’ve let your heart and soul guide you, and that is your expression of it.

Embrace the process of experimentation. You have nothing to lose (and NO you are not wasting your precious art supplies). Every brush stroke you add to paper has the power to heal you and the power to build your confidence and self love.

Once you’ve painted your hearts, don’t forget to play around with fun details. Add a splash of gold or silver for a bit of shimmer, or outline your hearts with ink for a bold, graphic touch. You can even turn your hearts into mini masterpieces by layering patterns or textures within them. The possibilities are endless!

I’d love to see your watercolor hearts! Feel free to tag me on social media or send me a photo of your creations. It always makes my day to see what you come up with. Happy painting, sweet friend!
